Walk outside on any afternoon in Tokyo and you're bound to find a yakitori cart offering what has become Japan’s street food of choice – skewers of seasoned meat cooked on a hot, open-top grill. Kalamazoo Outdoor Gourmet’s grill, the Edo, takes its inspiration from the yakitori technique, turns up the heat and puts it in a stylish package.
For its design, Kalamazoo looked to modern Japanese architecture. The Edo Grill has a sleek, simple form and when not in use, it could be mistaken for a beautiful outdoor table or piece of sculpture. Form meets function in this deft design when the two hand-textured stainless steel panels of the top slide open to reveal the 18” x 24” grilling surface and controls, while creating ample counter space to each side.
Kalamazoo’s cast stainless steel dragon burner system delivers the heat for superb grilling on the Edo. There are two control zones with a total of 50,000 BTUs. The deep hopper design ensures proper heat distribution and that cleaning is safe and simple. The fuel tank is concealed in the base of the grill; liquid propane is standard; natural gas is an option. Hidden casters make for easy movement. Kalamazoo’s unique customized grilling surfaces are also available.
